Learn about contact address requirements and processes for position holders in business entities.
What is a contact address
A contact address is where you can be physically located. This address protects the privacy of your residential address while ensuring you can be reached when needed.
Contact addresses are displayed in ACRA's public records. It can be the same as the residential address.
Who needs to provide a contact address
All individuals holding positions in business entities need to provide a contact address. This includes position holders in:
Companies (such as directors and company secretaries)
Limited liability partnerships (LLPs)
Limited partnerships (LPs)
Sole proprietorships and partnerships
Note: Corporate shareholders do not need to provide a contact address. This requirement only applies to individuals holding positions.
Requirements for contact addresses
You must file a contact address that meets all of these requirements:
Must be in the same country as the residential address
Must be a place where the individual can receive messages (like their office or Corporate Service Provider's office)
Cannot be a P.O. Box address
1. One contact address per person
You must use the same contact address for all entities where you hold a position. You cannot provide different contact addresses for different entities.
Example: If you are a director in two companies and a partner in one LLP, you must use the same contact address for all three entities.
2. Multiple position holders can share the same address
All position holders in an entity can use the same business address as their contact address, provided they can be physically located there.
Exception: Foreign position holders cannot use the entity's Singapore address as their contact address if they are not physically present at that address.
Filing contact addresses with ACRA
If you use a corporate service provider (CSP), they can file your contact address once for all entities where you hold a position. The same contact address will automatically update across all associated entities.
What you need to provide: Give your CSP an address where you can be physically located. Your CSP may ask you to provide proof of address.
Note: There are no fees to register a contact address.
