This practice direction sets out the changes to the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) syllabus to reduce the minimum CPE Programme duration from 1 CPE hour to 0.5 CPE hour and for 0.5 CPE hour to be awarded to public accountants (PAs) who complete relevant courses with a duration of more than 30 minutes but less than an hour.  PAs may recognise up to 50% of the required 90 structured hours (i.e. 45 hours) from such 0.5-hour courses in each rolling 3-year period.
