Renewing your registration for sole proprietorships or partnerships

You must renew your business registration before it expires to continue running it. You can renew up to 60 days before the expiry date.

Before you renew

This guide explains how to renew your business registration to avoid penalties. You can renew up to 60 days before the expiry date and choose a one-year or three-year renewal period.

Who may apply

Only business owners can renew the business registration. You can also engage a corporate service provider (CSP) to file on your behalf.

Check that all registered owners have either:

  • Fully paid their Medisave contributions to the CPF Board

  • Set up an active GIRO arrangement with CPF to pay outstanding Medisave contributions

To find out how much you need to top up, log in to CPF's self-employment dashboard.

If you have overdue payments and no GIRO arrangement, ACRA cannot process your renewal and may cancel your registration.

Three-year renewals

You need to meet any of these conditions to qualify:

  • You have no outstanding Medisave contributions with the CPF Board.

  • You have an active GIRO arrangement with CPF for your Medisave contributions, with a good payment record. For example, you have made all payments on time for at least 24 months before renewing.

  • You are not a self-employed person.

Note: It is an offence to run your business after your registration expires. If you no longer want to run your business, close it before your registration expires.

1. Click "Login" on the Bizfile homepage and select "Business User" to log in via Corppass.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I renew for three years?

Yes, if your business meets CPF Board conditions. If you do not see this option when renewing, contact the CPF Board.

Can I renew more than 60 days early?

No. You can only renew up to 60 days before your expiry date. If you try to renew earlier, the system will not let you proceed.

What if my Medisave is not up to date?

Your renewal will be rejected. Make sure all business owners or partners have current CPF Medisave contributions before you renew.

What happens if I renew late?

You may face penalties. It is illegal to run your business after registration expires. If you miss the deadline, contact ACRA immediately.

If your entity is cancelled, you can request to restore your business through the General lodgement eService. Under "Type of lodgement", select Apply to restore business entity following non-renewal.

After you renew

You will receive a free Business Profile in your Bizfile inbox. This report contains your updated registration details.

Download your Business Profile within 30 days, as the free copy expires after this period.
