Understanding the public accountancy profession
PAs and AEs play a key role in maintaining trust in Singapore’s financial system. They must register with ACRA to carry out independent statutory audits.
Key differences: PAs and AEs
Role | Description |

PA | A licensed individual who signs off on audits and gives an independent opinion on a set of financial statements. This includes ensuring that the audit was conducted according to professional standards, such as:

AE | A registered entity, such as a sole proprietorship, partnership or company. PAs provide audit services to the public through AEs. |
