Filing with the Central ROND & RONS
Unless exempt, all companies and foreign companies must file their Registers of Nominee Directors (ROND) and Nominee Shareholders (RONS) information with ACRA.

What are the Central ROND and RONS
ACRA maintains these central databases:
Central ROND: Contains details of directors who act as nominees and their nominators
Central RONS: Contains details of shareholders who act as nominees and their nominators
This information helps law enforcement agencies investigate financial crimes, but it is not fully available to the public.

Who must file with the Central Registers
If you must set up and maintain an ROND and RONS, you must also file with the Central ROND and RONS.
This filing requirement has been in place since 16 June 2025.
If you are exempted
You still need to inform ACRA of your exemption status through the Update Registers of Nominee Directors and Nominee Shareholders eService.

Note: You cannot apply for an extension of time for ROND and RONS filings. If you do not file your ROND and RONS with ACRA on time, you may face prosecution and fines up to $25,000.

Who may file
You can file with the Central ROND and RONS if you are a:
Position holder (such as a director or secretary)
Registered corporate service provider (CSP)
Group secretary of group of companies
Note: Your registered CSP can set up and maintain your ROND and RONS and file information with ACRA. However, the legal obligation remains with your company. Your company will be liable for any enforcement actions if you breach ROND and RONS requirements.
What you need to prepare
File the same information from your private ROND and RONS to the Central ROND and RONS. You only need to file information about existing nominee arrangements.
Keep any supporting documents with your private registers. You do not need to file these with ACRA.

Publicly available nominee details
When you file nominee information with ACRA, the nominee status appears publicly in your company's Business Profile only.
This enhances transparency and helps mitigate money-laundering risks through customer due diligence.
What information is public and what is private
Public information
Anyone can check if a current director or shareholder is a nominee by buying your company's business profile.
However, they cannot check nominee status from Bizfile's people search.
Private information
The following information remains private:
Date of nomination
Names and details of nominators
Historical nominee arrangements
How nominee status appears in business profiles
Nominee status is displayed next to the person's name:
"ND": Nominee director
"NS": Nominee shareholder
The nominee status will not appear if:
The nominee arrangement has ceased
The director's appointment has ended
The shareholder is no longer a member
Your company is exempt from ROND and RONS requirements
Your company has no nominee director or shareholder
Note: Members of the public cannot buy ROND or RONS information.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
How do I fix a mistake in my ROND and RONS filing?
Open the Update Registers of Nominee Directors and Nominee Shareholders eService and log in.
Update the incorrect information.
Submit your changes.
Your records will update immediately after you submit.
Note: You do not need to file a notice of error (NOE).
How do I file for multiple nominees or nominators?
First, make sure you record all nominators' details accurately in your private registers.
If you have multiple nominee arrangements: You can submit up to 100 nominee arrangements (across both nominee directors and shareholders) in one or more transactions.
If you have more than 100 arrangements, submit another transaction through the same eService.
If one nominee has multiple nominators: Create separate records (one for each nomination). You can select the same nominee multiple times. You may submit all records in one transaction or across separate transactions.
If one nominator has multiple nominees: Create separate records (one for each nomination). You can select the same nominee multiple times. You may submit all records in one transaction or across separate transactions.
How do I file nominee shareholder information for foreign companies?
As ACRA does not hold information on members of foreign companies, you need to provide the shareholder's name when filing their nominator details.
What if I do not have any nominee directors or shareholders?
Open the Update Registers of Nominee Directors and Nominee Shareholders eService and log in.
Under the "Does the entity have any active nominee directors or nominee shareholders?" field, select No.
Complete and submit your filing.
What if a foreign corporate nominator has no registration number?
Select not applicable in the registration number field when you use the Update Registers of Nominee Directors and Nominee Shareholders eService.
This applies to foreign corporate nominators that were not issued a registration number in their home country.
What do I do if a nominee director or shareholder ceases their position?
If a nominee director or shareholder ceases their appointment, you need to:
Cease their appointment through the Appoint or withdraw position holder eService.
File the date the nomination ceased through the Update Registers of Nominee Directors and Nominee Shareholders eService.
Do I need to file separate updates if my nominator holds multiple positions?
Yes, you need to file separate updates. This is because ROND and RONS information are stored separately from other business information.
For example, if your nominator is also a:
Position holder (such as a company director or secretary): You need to update through the Update position holder information eService too.
Shareholder: You need to update through the Update shareholder information eService too.
Why does "inactive" appear beside a nominator's name in the eService?
The record shows as "inactive" when:
You previously filed information about a nominee arrangement
You have since updated the record to show that the nomination has ended
